Sugar

Yesterday was Mother's Day. It was sunny most of the day, then rainy in the later afternoon. Jeff and Ethan got me two hanging pots of fuchsias, some candles, and a handmade card. Jenny helped Ethan make it -- inside he wrote "I LOVE YOU MOM," but since he still tends to write the letters in random locations, she wrote it small at the top so I knew what each part said. It was cute.

I led a parent-child taiko workshop in the afternoon, which was good fun.

After Ethan woke up from his nap, we were sitting on the front porch watching the rain. He said, "It's sugar, mama!" "What is, honey?"

"The fog is like sugar."
