Alpha dog
The last few mornings Ethan has given Teddy his food. At Jeff's suggestion, he first tells Teddy to lie down. Teddy doesn't lie down on the first try, but once Ethan says it firmly enough - "DOWN, Teddy!" - he'll do it. Then Ethan says, "OK!" and Teddy goes to eat his food.
