Ethan Home ... First Year
Ethan Paul Tingey Hopper was born on Tuesday, August 20th, 2002, at 1:56 pm. As you can imagine, we've already taken a ton of pictures. Ethan was 7 pounds, 13 ounces, 20 and a half inches long.
These are stories and pictures from his first year, in reverse order. I've removed a bunch of the pictures, to make room for newer stuff. If you remember a picture that you absolutely must have, just ask me -- I do still have all the old ones too.

8/16-8/31 Ethan's Birthday Ethan turns one! Karen makes her first cake for the occasion.
8/1-8/15 Ethan Goes to the Beach He charms everyone at Naoko's wedding and plays the piano at Gammi's.
7/1-7/31 Ethan Learns to Crawl He signs "more," and learns to turn lights on. Many Hoppers visit.
6/1-6/30 Ethan Goes Swimming He goes to Mount St. Helens, and learns to say "oodly."
5/18-5/31 Two More Teeth Mom, Gammi, and Erika visit. Ethan falls on his face and also learns to say "dada."
5/1-5/18 Mother's Day Ethan waves, scoots, and learns new games.
4/1-4/30 Ethan Visits the Zoo He also gets a drum to play with.
3/1-3/31 Ethan Gets a Haircut He rolls over. He stands up. He grows fangs.
2/1-2/28 Valentine's Day Ethan gets a balloon. We babysit the twins. Ethan makes his first sign.
12/21-1/27/2003 Back to work New Year's. Ethan starts solid foods.
12/20-12/28 Christmas Christmas in California. Ethan and Nicholas meet again.
12/2-12/14 Post-Thanksgiving Ethan learns many new tricks.
11/22-11/29 Thanksgiving Ethan meets the family, and his hands meet each other.
11/5-11/18 The Twins Visit Also, Karen paints the bathroom -- twice.
10/30-11/3 Ethan's First Trip Ethan goes on an airplane. He meets his cousin, and has his first Hallowe'en.
10/21-10/29 Mom Experiments Jeff's gone so much that I've started taking pictures myself.
10/2-10/20 Another Family Visit Erika, Mom, and Gammi come up for the weekend.
10/1 Also Known As... Ethan has had many aliases throughout in his young life so far.
9/23-9/30 Dad Experiments Jeff has fun with the camera. We try out the baby sling.
9/16-9/22 Ethan Smiles And Granddad and Great-Aunt Pat come to visit.
9/10-9/15 Ethan Takes a Bath Also, he sleeps, makes his first friend, and hangs out in the nursery.
8/22-8/30 The First Week Ethan at home with family. Ethan goes to Mount Tabor. Also, he sleeps.
8/20/2002 Ethan's Birth Ethan's birth, in the hospital, and coming home.
