September 22 - Ethan definitely smiles now. Jeff got a good one on the changing
table, and I saw one just after he woke up. So cute! And a good thing, too --
he was very fussy in the morning today, from about 6 am until 11. We kinda
tag-teamed him so we could each get some sleep.

My boobs are so productive now that when Ethan lets go mid-feed, he gets
sprayed all over his face. He doesn't like that much. And I have to say it gets
very messy. I have a whole nursing routine now -- before we start, I get
everything ready: water, scrunchy in my hair, old cloth diaper to catch leaks,
something to read if it's daytime. New nursing pads for after (speaking of
which, I started using washable ones -- they're great).

Dad and Aunt Pat drove up to visit last week, after Dad's birthday. Dad and I
fit in a trip to Artichoke Music, because Dad brought me his old guitar to use,
having decided that he didn't play enough to keep calluses on for a
steel-string. So he bought a really nice classical guitar, and left me his old
Martin. I don't mind.

Aunt Pat was of course very happy to
meet the little guy, and she brought him even more presents, a chenille teddy
bear and a thick blanket.

We're having fun dressing Ethan in different outfits -- his little
tie-dyed outfit from the Saturday Market is still too big for him, but
he looks cute in it anyway.

Lest you think he's a perfectly angelic baby, here's a movie of
Ethan crying.
