Ethan Home ... First Year ... The Twins Visit

November 5 - Took Ethan for a walk, forward-facing. Fun. He enjoyed it, I think. We walked down to Common Grounds and got some coffee, then home -- very tiring.

I talked Jeff into taking Ethan to choir, so I could go to taiko. I felt like a bad mommy when they got home, though, because Ethan had been screaming all the way home. But I guess he was OK at the practice. Anyway, I shouldn't feel like a bad mommy -- right? I don't think Jeff's a bad daddy when he leaves me at home. At least, not really.
November 8 - Tonight we had Karla and Jay over for dinner, which was really fun. We just lined the three babies up on a quilt on the floor. Jay confessed that he's afraid William is plotting his demise, because sometimes he'll catch William just looking at him, very seriously -- and then he looks away as soon as he's caught.
November 10 - We got paint for the bathroom and got it all ready yesterday. I'd been thinking purple, but Jeff wanted to try a green, so we got one. I'd painted some of the edges, and behind the toilet (ugh), when Jeff came in and said, "Huh. Looks like toothpaste." And it did. But he said it was OK, so I kept going... but then while he was gone at taiko, I realized I hated it. Hated it. It was nauseating. So I stopped.
I went to Miller and got a different color -- a nice purple-blue-gray. I painted over the toothpaste and painted one coat of that. Chris from across the street suggested we just paint over the ugly backsplash. So I did, and I'm thrilled with it.
Sometimes I'm overwhelmed by everything Ethan has to learn. I mean... someday he'll be able to, I don't know, use a power saw or something. But right now he can't even push himself up off his stomach.
November 16 - Janice stopped by and brought a bunch of clothes for Ethan. We are now rich in baby clothes. Joshua's very cute, and can do so much.

Then Jeff and I went off and bought a big bed. It was kinda funny, going around lying on beds in the store. But that's how it's done, I guess.
Jeff took some nightshot pictures of the baby. As you can see, they're really scary.
Today on my walk Jeff made me take the camera with me, because he wanted some pictures of the fall colors before they're gone. I grumbled about carrying it, but I guess it was kinda fun.

November 18 - Finished up painting the bathroom and installing the fixtures and the cove base. It looks great. I also made a little hoodly with hooks, which was a (boring) story in and of itself. Anyway, there are hooks now.

There have been lots of glorious sunsets lately.
