Milk on its way

Yesterday I finally sent off my freezer stash of milk to the Mother's Milk Bank in Colorado. They made it relatively easy by sending a box with a prepaid UPS label, but I still had to get blood drawn (free at Legacy Good Samaritan, a program that's been in place for years but is seldom used), and procure dry ice for shipping. Today it arrived in Denver, so I hope some other baby will enjoy it. Apparently they're especially in need of preemie milk, from the first 4 weeks of a preemie baby. Since I pumped after every feeding while she was in the NICU, and once a day when she first got home, I had a pretty good stash. It filled a quarter of our freezer.

Smiley girl

Linna is so big now. I don't know how much she weighs, but she's BIG. And pudgy. She smiles all the time, and seems to especially appreciate it when Ethan says, "Ooey gooey."

Right now she eats a lot in the afternoon and evening, and then sleeps through from about 11 pm until 4 or 5 am. That's not bad - it means only waking up once in the night. I can handle that for as long as she wants to do it. But I remember Ethan did that early on, then went back to every 3 hours later.

She is so cute I can't stand it. Mandy keeps saying she wants a chocolate Linna so she can eat her up. I content myself with kissing her fat cheeks a lot.

The family were all happy to meet her - we got mobbed when we showed up at Easter, and just passed her around the rest of the night. Also, Martha had a little "welcome Linna" party early in the week in CA, and that was a great way to see a bunch of people. Have I mentioned how much I appreciate Martha? (Or Grandmartha, as Ethan calls her.)

We went to see Naoko and Gen, and Noelle came with Jenna, too. Jenna and Linna are only 2 days apart, and they are remarkably the same size. Gen is very small and so cute.
