Breaking news...

Linna took one step on Sunday (Easter), then today she took several! She has a new game in her crib, in which she pulls herself up, claps her hands and squeals, then deliberately falls on her bottom. She does this for applause.

Anyway, after lunch she was walking holding on to my finger with one hand. I took the finger away, and she stood there a moment, then took three tiny steps towards me. Of course we were all applauding and cheering for her, which she loved.

Stand-up girl

My first day down in California last week, we were waiting for Erika to come and watch Linna so I could go to my meeting. We were outside on the driveway at Dad and Martha's, and Linna stood up while holding on to a flower. I think she thought it was holding her up. But really she can stand on her own for quite some time - she just doesn't think she can. I tried not to encourage her too often to do it, because I didn't want her to learn to walk while we were down there.

We had a good time - relatively relaxed because we weren't trying to do too much. We went to see Gammi, and hung out with Martha and Dad and Sarah and Kevin, and I spent a good bit of time with Mandy, which was great. Lots of help watching Linna from all of the above.
