Coggee!

Linna loves to help make coffee. She pushes the button, just as Ethan used to do, and then when the coffee comes out she throws up her arms and says, "Coggee!" Unfortunately, she then also wants to take the little cup of hot espresso, and drink it.

At J.D.'s house last night, she got tired of dinner and collapsed in despair on the floor. Then she told me she wanted to go night-night. So I put her in a cozy chair, bundled a blanket around her, and gave her a book. That kept her happy for a good 10 minutes. Then Ethan read her one of the libary books we got her - it was a very sweet moment.

Whenever anyone makes ANY kind of joke and people are laughing, Linna wants to get in on the action by saying "moo" and giving us a conspirational grin. (See previous entry on that topic.)

Linna has lots of shoes, ever since a garage sale on our street at which I bought her five pairs of adorable little-girl shoes. There's a red pair of sandals, very European, that she's particularly fond of. Other days she insists on "boo!" - boots. Those have a rere rower - a.k.a. a pretty flower. Then there's this tan pair that are very cute, but that she absolutely disdains.

She also likes the scarves and hats that I knit, so I recently knit her a new scarf and hat. They're extremely purple, and very cute.

Words

Linna's made another jump in her talking, I think. She tries to copy everything, and loves to say little phrases. And to identify things as belonging to people - she'll say, "Mama's bowl. Brother's bowl. Linna's bowl. Dada's bowl." Of course, it actually sounds like: "Mama - boh! Bubba - boh! Ninna - boh! Dada - boh!" Cute, though.

She's also EXTREMELY strong-willed. This morning I picked the wrong shoes for her twice. She did NOT want the brown shoes, and she did NOT want the red shoes. She wanted BOOTS. And she loves to wear a "rere ca" - a pretty scarf. Every time I put on a sweater today, she let me know that she wanted to wear it instead.

And boy, does she love to say "No."
