De-da-de-da-de-da-de!
Linna has learned a song. She loves for us to sing to her, and she often requests either "dah" (Twinkle Twinkle Little Star) or "beep-beep" (The Wheels on the Bus). On Saturday she was going around saying, "De-da-de-da-de-da-de!" to a tune that sounded remarkably like "Twinkle Twinkle." As we listened, it became clear that in fact she was singing it. Here's about how her version goes:
De da de da de da de
ow a de da de da de
up a de da de da de
It's pretty cool.
She also now says, "Ella," which is the name of one Ethan's best friend at school. And she said "Bye, Lou" to the neighbor, Lou. Over and over: "Bye, Lou. Bye, Lou."

Many things
There are so many things to blog about, and I'm totally behind. (Reminds me of a Mandy quote from many New Year's ago: "I'm totally behind! Can I take my pants off?" Don't ask.)
Linna's talking up a storm. I know I keep saying that, but it's really true. New words every day, more and more clearly. The other day she was doing the "boo bayah" puzzle - pooh bear. The way she says "bus" is really cute - she says "pus" but the p is a percussive pop, and the s is a hiss. If you ask her a question and she has to think about the answer, she'll say "umm...." or "hmmmmm...." which is cute because it sounds so grown up, somehow. She can also have phone conversations, and loves to talk to her daddy - who's in Alaska for two weeks.
In the morning she often wakes up and says, "Daddy?" When we were in California without Jeff and Ethan, she'd wake up and say, "Daddy? Bubba?"
On a less pleasant note, when Ethan loses his temper (or not - sometimes he doesn't even have a reason) and hits or pushes her, or takes something away, she'll say sadly, "Bubba. Bubba."
And if there's something she doesn't want to do, or just something she's upset about, sometimes she'll tap her chest and say "Linna." Or rather, "Ninna."
