A-gaga!

Linna plays this funny game sometimes, mostly when we're in the car. She and Ethan were taking turns at it last night on the way home from dinner (sushi - always a sure bet). She starts by saying some colors, very precisely, but in some random order - like, "red - blue - yallow - black - white - geen - ora - blue...." and then she pauses dramatically and says, "AaaaahGAGA!" I don't know what it means, but it seems to be pretty fun.

On a less fun note, she's sick today. She threw up a few times, and now she's just tired and a little feverish. Mostly this evening she's been sleeping, either on me or on Jeff.

Singing fool

Linna just loves to sing right now. Her favorites are the ABC song, Rock-a-bye Baby, this lullaby I learned from Naoko, and of course Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. It's hard to describe how cute it is when she sings, "Rock a bye, baby, cradle - and - all!" She calls the ABC song "ADDs!"

I'm down in California this week, and apparently she was up every hour crying for me. Very sad, for all concerned. At least Jeff has the new Rancilio espresso machine.

Talking in her sleep

Linna often talks in her sleep. Last week she said sadly, "Green! No bubba, Linna's turn!" ("Bubba" means Ethan, though yesterday she started calling him "Ethan" sometimes too.) And last night, around 3 am, she started crying and saying, "Little cheese! Little cheese!" I figured she was just dreaming about cheese - and she probably was - but in the end she wouldn't go back to sleep until we got up and had one little piece of cheese.
